Kindergarten

Somehow, my little girl has grown up and started kindergarten this week.  I remember when I was pregnant with Ann, I was working full time in a school district in Utah, and seeing all of the kids and their parents at the elementary schools I worked at.  I would think how that would be me in just 6 years.  It's crazy for me to realize that those six years since I was pregnant have passed so quickly.  But Ann has been so excited for school to start and has been enjoying it every single day.

Ian was my model outside on the porch while Ann finished doing something inside before coming out.

My big grown up girl!  I can already tell that she is growing up and maturing more by being in school.  And if you are curious about her outfit - yes, that is a school uniform.  We made a relatively last minute decision against sending her to the neighborhood public school and decided to place her in a brand new (just opened this year) LDS-based private school (chalk that up as something I never thought I'd do as a parent - sending my child to a private school, that is).  The public schools here are well known for not being good, and they consistently rank at the very bottom of public schools in the entire country.  There are other factors that went into the decision too.  It's also half day kindergarten (4 hours a day), whereas almost everywhere else here has full day.  We are excited about this new school though and I think it will be a good place for her this year.

She insisted we take goofy pictures :)
