Happy Election Day!

It may seem hard to believe, but the elections are finally just about over (until all the campaigning starts again for the next elections in 2 years...).  Today was a special election day for me because it's the first time I've been able to vote in person!  The year I turned 18 was a non-election year (2003) and so by the time the next elections rolled around, I was out at BYU.  I decided I'd rather vote absentee from Minnesota than vote in Utah, so that's what I've done for every election I've voted in.  Now we've back in Minnesota and I finally got to vote in person today!  It was especially fun because my polling place was the middle school I went to in 6th grade.

Wearing my "I Voted" sticker!

I'm looking forward to hearing the results of the elections later tonight and tomorrow.  We have some constitutional amendments on our ballot here that I'm especially curious to see how they turn out (voter ID and same-sex marriage).  They are both really close races, so we'll see what happens.  I don't ever really plan on waxing political on my blog, but I will say that Tom and I are both more moderate in our thinking.  We both voted for republicans and democrats for both national and state races (Tom voted absentee from Nevada).  To me, political party doesn't make too much of difference when I'm deciding who to vote for.

If you haven't voted already, be sure to make it to the polls!
