I've gotten a little behind in my blogging recently. I just haven't had a good opportunity to sit down at the computer, edit pictures and get things uploaded. So these are a few things of what we've done over the last couple of weeks.
Ann commented one day how we were both wearing gray shirts and jeans. Tom was at home so we had him take some pictures of us.
Love this goofy, silly girl. I can't believe how much she had grown (and that she's almost 3!)
Waiting for the muffins we made to come out of the oven.
The SLP in me just gets excited when I see Ann learning new things. Ann loves the alphabet - she knows all her letters and most all the sounds the letters make. So lately I've noticed that she's starting to understand the concept of putting letters together to make words. We were playing a card game she has one night, and she started spelling out the color words, then going to get those letters off our fridge and spell out the word she was looking at (in this case, white).
She then would take the letters, and with no help, put them back on the fridge to spell out the word. So there is "white" and "black" on there.
On the 1st, Ann and I were invited to a friend's house for an April fool's party. Everyone was asked to bring a food made to look like something else. This was my contribution. If you can't tell, it's supposed to be sushi. I was surprised I couldn't find any green fruit by the foot/fruit roll-ups to use for the seaweed, so I had to settle for red. They were still tasty though. Some of the other "foods" at the party included dirt, grilled cheese sandwiches (cake with orange frosting in the middle), punch (red jello in a cup with a straw), and bath water (actual blue punch with sherbet in it).
My cute little ballerina. The reason for the towel on the floor is because we were in the midst of potty training! We started at the beginning of the month and she has done great! I was not looking forward to potty training at all, but luckily it's gone fairly well. We hardly have any accidents. I can only hope that future potty training efforts go as smoothly as this one.
Ann loves to play the piano and either sing along to what she's "playing" or ask me to sing while she plays.
Waking up from naps can be so hard :-) Sometimes I'll get Ann up from her nap and she decides she's just not ready to wake up yet, so she will doze back off on the couch or floor.
So I finally got around to getting a picture of my growing belly. The picture on the left was last Friday, at 24 weeks. The picture on the right is me at 26 weeks pregnant with Ann. I think they look pretty similar, so I guess I'm being a little bigger this time around (which I'm not too surprised by).
This was just this past Sunday. Ann had played pretty hard on Saturday with no nap, and woke up earlier than I would have expected on Sunday. Our ward meets from 11-2, so we don't normally do a nap on Sundays, but she completely fell asleep finishing her lunch. I picked her up and let her lay on the couch for about an hour.
