Inside and Out

Spring weather comes to Las Vegas a lot sooner than any other place I've lived.  So we've had fun doing things both inside and out.

This little boy has the cutest curly hair.  This was right after his hair had dried from taking a bath, so the curls were at their maximum.

Ann and Ian went through a period when they had a lot of fun pulling aprons out of a drawer in the kitchen and wearing them around.

There were even kid sized ones.  Ian really enjoyed this one in particular.

Playing outside on the trampoline.  I normally take pictures from the sidelines, but this time I sat on the trampoline with them, which made for some fun shots.

One on the hardest things of having a 4 year old with a cast was keeping her from being too crazy so as to not injury her arm further.  Occasionally she could be on the trampoline only if she bounced very gently.

Running around a little bit

My sweet girl - she definitely was a trooper throughout the whole 6 weeks she had her cast on

Talking to Daddy through the window.  Tom was sitting at our computer and had the windows open, so Ann and Ian came up to say hello.

Riding Grandpa's old tractor

Ian isn't able to use the pedals yet, but he does like to sit and move the wheel

On February 8 the time had finally come for Ann's cast to come off!  She giggled the whole time they used that cutter because the PA told her that it would tickle.

Checking out her arm.  They x-rayed her elbow one last time after her cast came off just to double check how everything looked.  Her doctor said everything healed wonderfully!

Her poor dry skin

Eating a celebratory In-N-Out burger for dinner that night (we gave Ann the choice of what to have for dinner and that's what she picked).  We had to remind her a few times while she was eating that she could use both of her hands now :)

This was just a couple days later after Ann's cast came off.  As you can tell, her left elbow was still bent.  It took about 2 weeks or so before she could fully extend her arm out again.

Ian decided it would be fun to stand on the seat of tricycle.

Having fun riding around the backyard

As much as I love this boy's curly hair as seen at the beginning of this post, his hair was starting to get a little shaggy.  I decided I wanted to try and cut his hair myself.  So I plopped him on the floor in the living room, used the chrome cast to play some youtube videos on the TV and cut his hair.  He was generally cooperative.

The end result!  I think it turned out pretty good.  It took a little while getting used to such short hair - it makes him look so much more grown up!
