Christmas Day

Christmas was a wonderful day.  We split our present opening into two parts since it was Sunday and our Sacrament Meeting at church started at 11.  We gathered in Tom's parents' room and then everyone went upstairs to see what Santa had left for them.  After playing with those presents for a little bit, we all went downstairs for breakfast.  We then got ready and went to church.  We had a wonderful Christmas program at church.  I felt like it really helped to remind me about the true meaning of Christmas and what we truly are celebrating.  After church, we then proceeded to open the mountain of presents under the tree.  It was a pretty low-key day after that.  All it all, it went well (and we didn't have any ER visits this  year, so I'd say it was a huge success!  :)

Ann's request from Santa was a pink scooter, and a Princess Anna dress and crown (from "Frozen").  She had told me previously that if she did get a scooter, she would be very careful if she rode it around inside.

Ian got a ride-on bulldozer truck with some "rocks" to move around

Kinley got some snuggles in with Grandpa while holding the new puppy toy that Santa brought her

Just about everyone took turns trying out Ian's truck

Ann was very happy about her Anna dress

She doesn't kid around about eating those nerd ropes!

The mountain of presents just before we began to open them.  We had 13 people there (including the kids).  I can't imagine how big that pile would have been if the twins were home from their missions!

Jill, (big) Ann and I printed a picture from each of our respective weddings and framed them for Tom's mom - she'd been wanting wedding pictures to display downstairs

Ann got a cute veterinarian kit (I think it's Doc McStuffins) from Grandma Polley, and she was using the otoscope to check Ian's ears

Ann and Kreed found this adorable basset hound cookie jar

Ian was trying to check the heart-beat of my new Instant Pot (my present from Tom)

Some presents are too big to put by the tree (or rather, it's more exciting to not have them out) so they get hidden elsewhere around the big room upstairs.  This is David's reaction when his dad pulled out this huge box and set it in front of him (it was a crash mat for the bouldering/rock climbing David does)

Now Dad Polley has a hat to match those of his brothers-in-law!

Ian got more train tracks and train cars

My present from Tom's parents - a beautiful painting of the Savior holding an injured lamb

Aaron trying out their new squatty-potty :D

So we didn't have any ER visits this year, but unfortunately Ann was sick.  She started running a fever Christmas Eve night and it continued all through Christmas.  She was a trooper though.

Opening his present from me :)  It took me a lot longer this year to come up with a present for Tom and I was pretty happy when I finally figured something out.  I got him two games - one called "Sushi Go Party" and the other was "Takenoko"

Tom and his sister Ann pitched in together to get David the legos to create this (it actually moves so the man is able to push the ball)

We were all pretty worn out by the end of the day.  Tom and I fell asleep on the couch downstairs so David got our camera and took a picture (he said he did because it seemed like something I would do to someone else)
