Birthday

I had my birthday last month.  I still think I'm in denial about being in my 30s - probably because I still feel young (and 30s are still young-ish).  But regardless of my age, my birthday was still a good one.  Tom and I went out to eat for lunch at a tiny little Thai restaurant called Prommares.  I remember going there with Tom and some friends the first time I ever came down to Las Vegas just a week or two after Tom and I started dating.  We also had food from there at our wedding reception.  But somehow, neither of us had been back there since.  It was absolutely delicious (and made Tom want to have us try and make our own massaman curry paste to use...).  Ann and Ian helped me make my birthday cake that afternoon.  We had cake/blew out candles after dinner.

I got an Instant Pot for Christmas and one of the main things I was wanting to do with it was make  yogurt.  It takes about 24 hours total to do and I got my first batch finished up on my birthday.  Tom's mom bought me these pyrex containers to put my yogurt in for my birthday.  I got about 70 oz of greek yogurt (I strained it) for the cost of a single gallon of milk.  I have my latest batch chilling in the fridge right now.

Cuddling with the kids while my cake was baking in the oven.

We picked up Kneaders for dinner.  Ann came back (after telling her to get shoes on to go) saying she had a surprise for me and this was how she was dressed.  She posed for a picture and Ian decided he needed in on that posing action too.

My beautiful birthday flowers!  Ann decided that she wanted to get me flowers for my birthday so Tom's mom took her shopping and this is what she picked out.  They actually lasted for a really long time (nearly 3 weeks).

My cake!  It was a cinnamon roll cake and absolutely delicious (I used my newly made yogurt in place of the sour cream, which worked just great).

Watching Tom light my candles (because apparently you aren't supposed to light your own...)

My sweet little family (and I'm amazed that everyone is smiling and looking at the camera all at the same time!!)

Once we started singing, Ian laid his head down on my lap.  The best part of that though was after we finished singing, he popped his head back up and started to blow out my candles before I had a chance to!  All in all, it was a wonderful birthday.
