12-12-12

I think I remembered last night that today would be 12-12-12.  I knew it was December 12th, but just didn't put it together that the month, day and year would all be the same number.  Kinda fun though :)

Yesterday I took Ann outside into the snow.  We waited until the afternoon when it was a little warmer (meaning, around 20 degrees).  We got ourselves all bundled up and headed out.  It had been lightly snowing for most of the afternoon, so there was a nice thin layer of snow on the driveway and sidewalk.  If Ann tried to step into the deeper snow on the grass, she would start to lose her balance and get upset.  She had a lot of fun being out there though.  She was smiling so big and waving her arms around and just jabbering away.  We didn't stay outside too long (maybe 20 minutes at most), but it took a little coaxing to get Ann to come inside.

So happy to be outside again!

On a different note, the main reason why I remembered that today was December 12th is because four years ago today Tom and I got engaged.  It's crazy to think it's already been four years.  So what are we doing to celebrate?  We're eating pizza for dinner and then Tom's going to work on a final.

One of the things I loved about our engagement is that Tom put his camera on a tripod, set the timer, and then proposed.  So the above picture is one of 10.  I love seeing the smiles on our faces, because it was actually how we looked, instead of a reenactment.  I told Tom that deciding to marry him is still the best decision I've made in my life.

The pizza is kind of a tradition of sorts, I guess.  We ate pizza that night after Tom proposed.  We sat on the couch in  his apartment's living room eating pizza and calling people to share the news.  So we try and have pizza on December 12th (the only time I've forgotten was last year...we had a lot going on).
