Costco and other random thoughts

One thing (among many) that Tom and I missed when we moved to Minnesota was Costco.  The nearest one to us was over an hour away.  Then sometime earlier this year, when we were visiting my parents, my dad showed us the headline on the local newspaper: Costco was coming!  It just opened last month (while I was attending ASHA, actually), and I finally had time this week to go get ourselves a membership and go shopping!  I called Tom while I was at the store to tell him where I was.  I tried to restrain myself from buying too much stuff, but I did get a few of the things we really like (and particularly missed) from Costco: hello Kirkland ice cream, trail mix and mango salsa!

Ann's been having fun playing with the box the employee at Costco used to put our stuff in:

(Sorry for the glare, this was taken on my tablet and the early morning sun was shining particularly bright).  Ann sat in the box soon after waking up.  If you look close, you can see she grabbed a book to read while sitting in the box.

Saying hi to herself :)  She has loved dragging that box around the apartment and sitting in it.

I can't believe Christmas is almost here!  We're heading down to Las Vegas to be with Tom's family this year and we are so excited to go.

I've been trying to get Christmas presents figured out...sometimes they can be pretty easy, other times it can be really hard to figure out what to get someone.  I have decided that I'm going to make Ann a quiet book to play with at church.  I haven't done that much crafty stuff in a long time, so hopefully I'm not getting myself in over my head.  I've got most of the materials I need, I just need to start getting things cut out and sewn together.

There is a chance of snow tonight and on Sunday.  I'm so excited.  It has been such a mild winter and I find it almost depressing.  No more of this 40 degree and occasionally rainy weather!!  I just want the temperatures to drop and the snow to fall!! (yes, I am a Minnesota girl at heart and probably always will be...Tom teases me about my associations with the weather and the time of the year.  It just doesn't feel like December when it's this warm and there's no snow!  But I guess that's what I get for marrying someone who grew up in a desert :)

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Holiday Season!!
