Braids

Last week I decided to try and do something a little different with Ann's hair.  She's usually just in pigtails, if for nothing else to keep her hair out of her face (the girl's got a massive cowlick on the crown of her head which I swear has foiled all of my attempts to part her hair - and I haven't been able to bring myself to give her bangs).  So one day after her nap I decided to try and braid her hair.  I think it turned out pretty cute.  I need to learn more about doing hair, I'm bad at being able to do my own.  I think I was a junior in high school when I finally was able to do a single regular braid in my own hair (and in college when I got braided pig-tails down).

Cute little braids.  I've never attempted french-braiding before, and I think it's finally time I learned.

Ann unfortunately inherited my super thin hair, which makes doing cute things in her hair a little more challenging.  Tom's hair is really thick so I hoped she'd end up with something in between, but alas it wasn't meant to be.  However, I will not be deterred in attempting to do more various things with her hair!

How do you get Ann to sit still while you braid her hair? Some days I can't even get one pigtail in! I understand about the cowlick issue. Hailey's got one in the front and it makes parting her hair impossible and bangs probably wouldn't work for her unless she wants some of them going sideways. :)
