Happy Easter!

We had a nice, quiet Easter weekend.  We continued with our holiday trend of "doing-something-to-celebrate-but-remaining-relatively-low-key".  We went to an Easter activity at Church on the 23rd.  There was a nice devotional followed by a brunch and some crafts for the kids.  This last Saturday night Tom and I colored eggs (more like, he humored me by agreeing to color eggs...my Mom had given us an egg coloring kit last year she had laying around, and we realized it wouldn't be one Ann could do with us very easily so we just did it by ourselves after she went to bed).  After Ann's nap on Sunday we had a little Easter egg "hunt" (more like "gather") in our living room.  It was still too cold and snowy out to attempt to do anything outdoors.  We then went and had a nice dinner at my parents' house.

A fair number of pictures to follow, fyi:

This is the "bunny nose" craft that Ann did at our ward's Easter activity.  It's kind of like a mustache on a stick, except with a nose and whiskers.  This is how Ann usually held it up to her face.

The eggs Tom and I colored.  The kit was supposed to make "marble swirled" eggs.  You hold the egg in a gloved hand and rub a few drops of dye around.  Knowing Ann, she would probably try and smash the egg or eat the dye, so she didn't get to participate.  Maybe next year.

The "hidden" eggs :)

After Ann's nap Sunday afternoon we handed her her basket and told her there were eggs in the living room for her to find.  She ran out saying "EGGS!!!" and immediately plopped down to open them.  I didn't end up putting anything in the eggs (she doesn't need that much chocolate, and I was too tired Sunday afternoon to put something like graham crackers in them).  Lame?  Perhaps, but she didn't care though, she had a blast just opening and closing them while saying what color they were.

Happy, smiley girl

She has really enjoyed her basket.  I had her take it (with some eggs) to my parents' house later that evening so she could show it to them.  And then every time we went somewhere yesterday, she insisted on bringing the basket and eggs along :)

Such a sweet girl

Tom took a nap after Ann's egg hunt, so we tried taking pictures of ourselves using the timer on the camera

"Mama, the camera's doing something..." (each attempt ended with her pointing to the camera)

I love her curly hair
