The irony of having Tom's parents come out at the end of April was that we got snow multiple times over the few days they were here. The weather actually caused them some flight troubles, so when they were supposed to be getting into town early Thursday evening, they didn't arrive until about 3am Friday morning.
I remembered to bring our camera along with us for part of what we did, and I've got a lot of pictures to post :)
Tom had school on Friday so we went down to visit him after he got out of class for the day. Ann enjoys playing with these extra computers in his office area.
Ann warmed up to Grandma and Grandpa Polley really quickly

Friday was also Tom's birthday (Happy Birthday Sweetheart!!!), so we went out to eat at a restaurant called "Twigs". We had to wait a little before being seated

Running with Grandpa to the door of our apartment building
On Saturday, we headed out to Kellogg, MN to visit Lark Toy Store. Unfortunately, Tom was feeling to sick to come along, so he stayed home and slept while the rest of us left. It's an awesome toy store with a ton of stuff to do. Here we are trying on some hats and modeling them in a mirror.
Ann put this hat on me after I put the same one on her

There is an absolutely gorgeous carousel that you can ride. Each animal is hand carved and has so many fun details. Grandpa stood by Ann.

Tom's dad had my camera and stepped away from Ann for a minute during the ride to get a picture of her
(Sorry this picture isn't that great - the shutter speed was accidentally too high so the picture was WAY blown out. I did my best to recover it but there was only so much I could do)
Don't be fooled by Ann's face here - she LOVED riding that carousel and immediately wanted to go on it again. It only runs once every 30 minutes, so we had to wait a while for another ride.
As my dad would say, Ann's just showing her age here (by throwing a tantrum) :) There is a little deli shop inside the store and we were waiting to order some food.
After lunch Ann and Grandma Polley rode the carousel again.
Having the time of her life!
All done, waiting for Grandma to take her off the otter she was riding
There is a cute little candy shop area there too (and a fudge shop...don't worry, we got fudge). I had to remind Ann to just look at the candy and not touch. So what does she do? Stick her face into whatever she's looking at and say "look"
Llama!!! Lark has three miniature llamas. Seriously. Ann loves her "Llama, Llama, Red Pajama" book so she was pretty excited to see a real, live llama.
Watching the llama
On the way back home with my little sleeping beauty. She sure wore herself out.

After we got back from the toy store, I tried (unsuccessfully) to get Ann to sleep some more. While she chatted in bed for 45ish minutes, everyone else crashed out in the living room.
Saturday night we took Tom's parents to a fun ice cream shop in town called "Flapdoodles". Seriously the best ice cream. Tom was feeling better and was able to come with us.
Tom and I shared a three-scoop dish of ice cream. We got one of the little sampling spoons for Ann and let her go to town on our ice cream. She loved it.
I didn't get any more pictures of the rest of the weekend. We went to church on Sunday (it looked like Christmas before we left for church! Huge snowflakes falling from the sky). After Ann's nap we went over to my parents' house and had dinner all together. On Monday we drove up to the Mall of America before saying goodbye to Tom's parents. We are so glad they came to visit us and we can't wait until we get to see them again!
