Here are some pictures of what things looked like outside two days ago on the 30th:
Notice how green the grass was starting to look
(when did my little girl grow up???)
Fast forward to what I woke up to this morning, May 2:
Yes, that is snow. In May. Lucky for this tree, the wind has blown off a good portion of the snow so its branches aren't sagging as much. Though apparently many in town had lost power due to power lines and tree limbs being weighed down with snow.

This is around 3pm this afternoon. I ran outside quickly to take a few more pictures after Ann fell asleep for her nap. We have at least 12 inches on the ground, and as you can tell, it's still coming down. And this snowfall has definitely broken our city's previous May record one-day snowfall (1.2 inches from back in 1944!).
Tom stayed home from school this morning (not like we had much of a choice, there was no way our car was going to be able to get out of our neighborhood, luckily the plows finally came just before it was time for him to get to class this afternoon). On our way downtown, most of the pine trees we saw looked very weighed down like this.

Across the street, someone had built quite a tall snowman. The snow is so wet and sticky, perfect for making snowmen.
And hopefully this will be the last time until fall/winter that I will be posting anything about snow. I am grateful that I do like snow, as I think it helps me not be too bothered by the fact that it's May and snowing. Though I do think it's getting to be a little ridiculous. Oh well! Just have to laugh and move on, right?
