A Quick Outing

Earlier this week I was having one of those days.  It was cool and raining on and off, and by the time we'd finished dinner I decided that I just needed to get out of the apartment.  It was already getting past 7pm, so I ignored the dishes, grabbed Ann and headed out to Quarry Hill to walk around (Tom stayed home to do homework).  We were only there for about 30 minutes, but it felt great to get out and be in nature for a little while (I told Tom that as Ann and I headed back to the car, I had such a nice relaxed feeling inside...which quickly disappeared once I had to deal with a toddler screaming at me because she didn't want to sit in her car seat.  Oh well, it was still good to get out anyways :)

One of the highlights of our little trip was getting to see a little goose family hanging out by the pond.  We were able to get quite close to them and watch them for a few minutes.

Luckily Ann was content sitting in her stroller until after the geese got in the pond and swam away.  Both of the parents started to get a little mad at me if I got too close trying to take pictures of them.  I'm certain Ann would have tried to get too close to the geese, and I wanted to avoid having to save my child from two angry geese trying to protect their children.

Swimming off in the pond

There's a bridge that goes out to a  little island in the middle of the pond

Yep, that bench is in fact wet from the rain earlier

There is a little pavilion that Ann loves to run around, and also climb on the picnic table benches.

A picture of the pond that I took while Ann was having fun in the pavilion

Yep, I was there :)

I totally have those moments too... and then the toddler screams about something or life gets crazy again. It's hard to hold on to those peaceful feelings! It's so fun to get out though - glad you had a fun time!
