General Conference

This past weekend was the semi-annual General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  It is always such a spiritual boost to listen to the talks given (go to lds.org to read or listen to any and all of the talks).  The two talks I most appreciated were given by Sister Elaine Dalton (and was sad to hear she's been released from her call) and Elder Jeffrey R. Holland.  I know I will definitely be going back over those talks, plus all of the others, to re-instill their messages.

Listening to the opening song of the Saturday morning session.  Ann has always really seemed to like to the choir singing (and she always asked if it was time to pray after each song :)

Helping mommy take notes (more like preventing mommy from taking notes.  Once I tried to get my notebook and pen back, she threw herself into a full-on tantrum.  Apparently having a notebook and crayons of her own are not good enough).  Overall, Ann did really well during conference though - just playing around the living room while we watched and listened.

 Coloring after waking up from her nap during the Saturday afternoon session.  Earlier that morning as we watched I would tell her that the speakers were talking about Jesus.  When I got her up, I told her we were still watching Conference.  When the current speaker ended, she asked "song?" And I told her we'd have to see if it was a song or another speaker, to which she replied "speaker?  Jesus?"  Ann is such a sweet girl and she really loves Jesus, often pointing out the pictures of Jesus we have around our apartment.

It was a great weekend.  I am so grateful to have a Prophet and Apostles on the earth today to guide us.

In other news....

I cut my hair yesterday :)

I finally worked up the courage to cut it that short (I've been wanting to for a while).  I like it, though all last night as I was getting ready for bed I kept feeling like my hair was pulled back in bobby pins or something and I was forgetting to take them out :)
