Random: What We've Been Up To...

So it's been a while since I last posted.  There's been plenty these last couple weeks for me to worry about more than what I should blog about next.  Although, I don't want to neglect this for too long, as I do like having a record of what we're up to and what life is currently like for us (well, I guess it's mostly what life is like for me and Ann...Tom is still around :)  He' just really busy with school, and therefore not always here when I'm taking pictures).

First up: Snow.  We have had so much snow within the last few weeks.  I think we've had, what, 3 storms go through in the last three weeks?  I had to laugh at the irony Saturday night when I was at a friend's house - everyone was so happy because the temperatures had been rising and it had been raining all day (which was washing away the snow).  It started snowing again on Sunday and by the time it finished on Monday we had another 8ish inches.

I had pointed out to Ann on Sunday that it was snowing and she immediately said "outside!"  So we decided to get bundled up and go walk around for a few minutes.

This is what our street looked like around 4:30pm on Sunday....

...And this is what it looked like about 5 hours later...

Don't let that smiley picture from earlier in the post fool you...Ann is still very hesitant about the snow.  I decided to take her out yesterday into the yard behind our building.  We hadn't even walked out the door into the snow before she started saying "done".  I picked her up anyways and set her down (I'm so mean, aren't I?).  She was not very pleased.  Ann often takes a while to warm up to new things (it took a lot of effort to get her okay with just walking around in grass last summer, with or without shoes)

I can see this pine tree from our dining room window.  It is totally weighed down with snow from the last two storms.  I'm kind of surprised that none of the branches have broken off.

Ann loves to pull my shoes out of our closet and walk around with them.  These are actually the shoes I wore when Tom and I got married.  I'm impressed she was able to walk around in those heels

This was lunch today.  She was pretending to drink her yogurt and thought it was the funniest thing ever.

Wearing Tom's beanie.  I can't get over the cuteness that is this little girl

"If you are going to let me see you eating a treat, you better share with me!"  Tom pulled out a cake ball from the fridge and Ann insisted that she get some too (btw - this was on Monday, she asked to wear a dress).

Earlier I'd mentioned that I was at a friend's on Saturday.  A girl in my ward hosts a yearly "Favorite Things" party and invites a ton a girls from the ward.  Everyone chooses their favorite thing and brings 4 of it, and then everyone goes home with 4 new "favorite things".  It was fun to see what kind of things everyone brought.  In a flash of inspiration, I decided to bring something I recently discovered: soap made from goats' milk.  I had read about it on another blog I read and thought it sounded kind of fun.  I bought some that has tea tree oil in it for my face and I have LOVED it.  One of the girls at the party that got one of the soaps I brought has already told me how much she loves it.  I bought it at goatmilkstuff.com.  Just thought I'd share the love :)
