Las Vegas Vacation

I'm back!  It's been a while since I last blogged, and that's because we spent nearly 3 weeks in Las Vegas visiting Tom's family.  It was so nice to have a chance to get away for a good long while.  It was a much deserved break, especially for Tom.  I have a *ton* of pictures to post.  I'll be getting them posted as I get them all edited.  These are all from our first few days there.

The Polleys have a pool in their backyard (as does just about everyone in Las Vegas), and we were excited for Ann to get to go swimming for the first time.  However, as you can tell, she was not quite as excited as we were.

Grandma talked her into sitting on the edge and just putting her feet in the water.

Ann liked to play with the little basketball they had (there's a hoop next to the pool too).  However, she was very concerned whenever Tom, or anyone else, would swim too far into the deep area of the pool or go completely under water.  I think she was watching Tom go under in this picture.

This was in the evening of our first Sunday there.  It had been raining earlier that day, which significantly lowered the temperature outside, so we all hung out on the patio for a little while after dinner.

Cloudy evening

David standing in the rain (it was just lightly drizzling)

Ann watching David, but purposefully not going out onto the part of the ground that was wet.

Cute Daisy!

Ann keeping her distance from Daisy.  Ann loved petting Daisy when we were here at Christmas, but she refused to touch her during this trip.  She often would run away screaming if Daisy got too close to her or started walking towards her.  By the end of the trip, she always wanted to know where Daisy was and would say hi to her, but never wanted to touch her.

Playing with the packing peanuts from a box that came.

Ann loved to climb on the stool in the pantry and play with whatever she could reach on the shelves (all breakable items were moved out of reach :)

I went outside during Ann's nap one day and took some pictures of the flowers.  It was very hot out, and I didn't last very long before going back inside.

Flowers along the wall by the pool

Beautiful, hot day in the desert

There's a small little area in the house called the fort.  Ann loved going in and climbing all around on the extra beds that are kept in there.
