So this was technically before the reunion started - just an example of how much help an 11 month old is in terms of packing
Another excellent example of Ian's massive helping skills :)
This was me and Ian on either our drive to take Tom back home, or our return trip back up to the cabin. Ian was a trooper, though he really didn't like being in the car that much. He was getting pretty sick of all of the driving.
The lake by our cabin (Star Lake) was beautiful. The resort had paddle boats/bikes, canoes and kayaks that anyone could use.
Ann and Archer took turns steering the paddle boat (the one time I was on with these two, Archer pretty much just turned us in circles...)
Nick getting ready to head out on a canoe
Ian playing with Calvin (who is just a few months younger than him)
We took a trip into the nearby town to visit a shop called "The Chocolate Ox". It's a candy store (with an attached ice cream parlor). Each of the kids got to pick one thing to get. Ann chose these lego shaped candies.
In the field across from the store was this strange ox/fish statue.
Back at the cabin, a lot of Ann's cousins gathered around to look at her candy ("lucky!! Ann got lego candy!!")
Before dinner I went outside to take some pictures. There were some pink lady slippers along the shore of the lake (Lady Slippers are the Minnesota state flower)
A view of the lake and the little beach
I put Ian on my back while I was out
There was a playground set down by the lake as well and Ann had fun playing down there everyday.
Another shot of the flower
That night was my turn to be in charge of making dinner. I just kept Ian on my back while I worked. One of my nephews then came up to me and said "why is that baby on your back? Why is he sleeping?". Apparently Ian was tired and dozed off. He slept pretty much the whole time I worked on dinner (though I had to stand leaned forward so his head wouldn't flop backward).
