The Beach

There was a small sandy beach by the lake at our reunion.  I actually only went and played there once or twice (being on baby nap duty), but others went down there pretty frequently.

Usually Ann preferred playing on the playground versus just digging in the sand, but she'd stay over here when everyone else was at the beach.

This was Ian's first time playing in the sand.  He loved it!  It was a little funny for me to watch him enjoy it so much.  Ann is a much more sensory sensitive child and would have cried and screamed had I tried to do this with her when she was a baby.  So to have Ian be so ok with it was a little different :)  I am very glad he had fun though.

Down by the water

 He loved the water too, splashing and crawling around

Ann thought the lake water was too cold so she would stay up on the sand (it was chilly water)

There was a floating trampoline on the lake that we all had fun playing on

My mom set up her big golf umbrella for Ann and others to play under to keep out of the direct sun
