Backyard Camping

At some point a couple of months ago, Ann had asked if we could go camping.  We said we could set up a tent and camp in the backyard.  We finally were able to mid-May (when we had a weekend that wasn't too windy).  Ann had also been wanting to roast s'mores over the fire pit, so we combined those both into one backyard activity.

We did wait until the sun was set enough that it wasn't beating down on the fire pit.  It was around 80 degrees out, so sitting in the sun right by a fire would have been a little warm :)

Tom helped Ian roast marshmallows for the both of them

We at times had to help Ian eat his s'mores because he didn't like how messy they made his hands

Sitting with my cute boy roasting another marshmallow!

Ann and I were the only ones to sleep outside, so we just set up a little 2 person tent.  She and Ian had a great time just playing in and around the tent before we got ready for bed.  Overall Ann slept well, but did wake up early soon after the sun rose.  I had a much harder time sleeping (it wasn't very comfortable, and the birds to surprisingly very loud, even late into the night).

Ian was bummed that he didn't get to sleep in the tent.
