An Outing

Even though temperatures have dropped around here, we are still having some unseasonably warm weather.  It was around 70 degrees this afternoon so Ann and I decided to take advantage of the nice weather and head out on a walk (and swung by a park on our way back).

"Mom, do we seriously have to stop and take a picture now?  We haven't even been walking for a full minute!"  Note: Ann is wearing a hat!!  This is a big thing for her.  I bought this hat for her back in the spring when it was starting to get warm, with the intent that she would wear it when we went outside.  Well, she didn't want to have anything on her head, so she never wore it all summer long.  Yesterday as we were putting away her laundry, she found the hat in her drawer and pulled it out.  I put it on her head and she left it there!!  So when we went out today, I decided to see if she'd wear her hat.  I took this picture so early on because I wanted to get one of her wearing the hat, in case she refused to wear it later.  She left it on most the time we were outside.  It was a miracle :)

Getting ready to go down the slide!  She had so much fun.

Take a break for a little snack (graham crackers, yum!)

Another amazing thing that happened: when it was time to leave, Ann didn't put up a fuss as I put her back in her stroller (she usually throws a huge tantrum whenever she has to get back in her stroller after we've stopped somewhere to play).  Granted, I did give her another graham cracker just before putting her in, so that may have helped.  But I was still surprised that she didn't fight me at all.

We'll see how many more nice days we have before it gets too cold to go out much.
