Lately I have been trying to teach Ann about pronouns and help her to use them. She still won't use third person pronouns like "he" or "she", but has started to use first and second person pronouns like "me, my, mine, you, yours, etc" But as a typical toddler, she mixes them up. A particularly funny example of this happened last night that I couldn't resist sharing.
Every night as part of our going-to-bed routine, I say a prayer with Ann. It usually would just be me saying a prayer for the two of us. However, lately she will repeat me as I pray (which is so adorable). I've realized that I should pray as if I were her, so it's like she is praying and not me. So last night, instead of saying something like "bless Ann to sleep well tonight", I said "bless me to sleep well tonight" (this in hopes that Ann would say "me" instead of "Ann" like she usually does to refer to herself). But what does she say instead? "Bless mama sleep well"!! Ha! She sure outsmarted me! I couldn't help but laugh out loud after she said that.
Someday we'll get all those confusing pronouns sorted out :)
