Ann really loves making Valentine's (so much that she'll periodically ask to make them throughout the year :)
Ian had fun practicing his rolling skills while Ann and I made Valentine cards
This particular card was for Ann's only living great-grandma, my Grandma Cottrell (who actually just turned 94 last week!). We sent the card along with some pictures of our family. Ann only met my grandma when she was about 2 weeks old just before we moved to Minnesota, but I'm glad that she's still willing to make her a card, even if her only real memories of her are just looking at pictures.
Making painted sugar cookies. I bought some heart shaped cookie cutters for us to use.
We decided to do pink and yellow (I didn't think I'd be able to make a distinct red and pink - as the red usually just turns pink).
The cookies turned out really well this time (when we did this in the fall I accidentally burned the first batch I baked).
I don't have pictures of the rest of what we did, but I made chocolate truffle cookies like I have the last year or two and delivered them to some friends. I think everyone thought I was crazy for being out delivering cookies, as we were having negative 20 or something wind chills. Ann and Ian came with me, but they stayed in the car the whole time (normally Ann would help me ring the doorbell). Ann and Ian got to spend Valentine's evening with my parents so Tom and I could have dinner by ourselves. Overall we had a wonderful holiday!
