Calico Basin, again

We were in Utah for the majority for July (we just got back late last week).  I have a lot of catching up to do now!  These pictures are from June when some rain had cooled the temperatures down.  So I took Ann and Ian back out to Calico Basin.

Ann has gotten much more adventurous as she's gotten older.  She likes to hike on ahead of me and Ian.

Must stop and pick up rocks - it's like it's a requirement or something :)

At the top of the hill!

The area is called Calico Basin because there is a mixture of red, white and pink rock

More rocks :)

It still felt really hot out due to the sun beating down on us even though it was only about 80 degrees

Made it up to the rocks

Stopping for some much needed water

Squinty smiles in the sun

There was a very pokey cactus plant nearby

Ann took a picture of me and Ian

After coming back down the trail we'd been on, we stopped at a pavilion to have a snack.  Suddenly there were a whole bunch of  chipmunks all over the place.

They got quite close to us

Ann really wanted to go up on the boardwalk, so we just went up to the top of it, instead of going all around (as we need to get back home for lunch and Ian's nap)

Ann had wanted to go up and take more pictures.
