I must admit I was a little nervous for Halloween this year, only because I had heard from so many people that having temperatures here of nearly 100 degrees at the end of October was not all that uncommon (think melting candy as you are out trick-or-treating). Fortunately, things cooled off around mid-October and it was very pleasant come Halloween. I think the temperatures were around the 60s while we were out that night. It was a little tricky taking the kids out trick-or-treating as I was about 30 weeks pregnant by this point and was having a harder time walking longer distances. Tom had work that night so he wasn't available to take them out instead. It worked out well overall and both kids had a great time. (We also went to our ward's Halloween party earlier in October and both kids had a fabulous time there too.)

Ian has now been a cow for Halloween for 3 years in a row (I think he currently is saying he wants to be a cow every year. Fine by me!). With some help from Tom, we were able to make him a nice cow costume.
Ann decided she wanted to be an owl. I looked up online DIY owl costumes and found this pattern. I let her choose the colors of her feathers - so she was a very colorful owl! :) I don't consider myself exceptionally crafty, so I feel like things turned out pretty good.
My cute little animals!
