Thanksgiving 2018

We had a pretty low-key Thanksgiving Day this past year.  Tom works on Thursdays and doesn't automatically get holidays off.  We decided we'd rather him go in to work than taking a day off so that way we could save up days off for when the baby was born.  He did go in a couple hours late though and we had a Thanksgiving lunch together before he left.  On Friday, I took Ann and Ian and we drove down to Tucson to see my brother and his family.  We drove back home on Saturday.  It was fun to get away for a little bit and see family.

On Saturday morning before we drove home, we went up to Catalina State Park to hike around a little.  Near the trail head some people had set up an animal exhibit to learn more about the native animals.  You can't see it in the picture, but Ann's touching a snake.

Ian's turn to touch the snake.  There were other animals (snakes, spiders, gila monsters, etc) that were in cages as they are poisonous.  There was a stuffed gila monster on the ground under one of the tables and it was really freaking some people out.

Getting ready to head out on the trail

Ann loved getting to spend some time with her cousins

Ian trying to catch up to the older kids

While the sweet little toddler acted like a toddler and decided to sit on the trail to play with the dirt :)

Lots of cacti!

Taking a break to eat a snack and have some water before heading back
