Ann had been asking me for a while if we could go back to the zoo at Oxbow. So when we had a beautiful day (the kind of day where it would pretty much be a crime to not do something outside), I decided it was a good day to go.
As we got close to the park, you could see some beautiful fall colors on the hills
Hello Mr. Bald Eagle
Me and my sweet girl
Ian slept the majority of the time. Since it's October, hardly anyone was there. We almost had the whole place to ourselves.
A fun thing about going when the weather was cooler was that the majority of the animals were not only out, but also active (the otters were being lazy, but at least we could see them this time). The last few times we've gone it was really hot out, so most of the animals were hiding and/or sleeping.
There is a big oak tree that had a TON of acorns on the ground around it. Ann picked up several of them and carried them around until it was time to go.
Aaand, I decided to take a few pictures of the flowers that were still out
We had a great time, and I'm glad we were able to get at least one more trip in before the weather gets too cold
