It started with our Halloween party at church with our ward. Ann found her Raggedy Ann costume from last year and wanted to wear it again this year - luckily it still fit (it was a little on the big side last year)
They had the same "photo booth" backdrop as last year so people could take pictures
Ian got to have fun playing on daddy's shoulders one night (it ended when Ian started to spit up/slobber all over Tom's hair)
Earlier this week Ann and I made painted sugar cookies (the "paint" is dyed evaporated milk). We made fall colored leaves (the only fall themed cookie cutter I own).
Ian has a knack for waking up from his naps just as I am about to start doing something fun with Ann. So he got put in his swing and fortunately fell back asleep.
We had a little extra dough at the end and Ann said we should make them into circles
The first of two pans of cookies (I accidentally over baked these ones, so they were a little crispy, though they did soften up a fair bit after being stored)
Trying a bite of one if the more crispy cookies (the second pan turned out better).
Despite her funny face, she did like them (just not the edges).
Yesterday we finally decorated the pumpkins we had gotten at the orchard earlier this month. I don't have paint, so we stuck with markers.
Ann just wanted her pumpkin to be purple. She asked me to write her name on it, then just colored over it.
I wrote Ian's name on his and drew two little ghosts
Ann then wrote her name (and then colored over it)
All finished!
Purple fingers
Getting ready to go trick or treating! This is the first time Ann got to trick or treat outside of a church activity. She loved it! We went over to my parents' neighborhood and just walked up and down their street. We were only out for about 25 minutes before Ann said she was done. As we walked around, she kept exclaiming "this is so fun!!" I was really impressed with her. She is still very shy, but she would go up to each door on her own (I stood back a bit), ring the door bell and say trick or treat and thank you (only occasional prompting needed).
Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! We are excited for Thanksgiving and Christmas to come!
